2 weeks to Plastic-Free Day

A great way to celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 93rd Birthday!

This year Plastic-Free Day is being organised by Final Straw Solent on Wednesday 8th May 2019.

They’re encouraging everyone to get involved, whether you’re doing it as an individual, a business, organisation or school.

We’re also supporting the day, by doing assemblies in schools across Portsmouth during the next two weeks, helping children and staff think about things to change.

For example, did you know that the average child’s lunchbox contains 3 pieces of single-use plastic, which amounts to 30kg in a school year…the weight of an average adult wallaroo!

We’ve got ideas to help reduce the plastic in lunchboxes here.

If you’d like us to come and visit your school, drop us an email as we still have a bit of availability before the day.

You can also find more resources on Final Straw Solent‘s website.
